The National Weather Service issues no public warning for cloud-to-ground lightning — the biggest day-to-day hazard for crews in the yard, on loading docks, on roofs and in open structures. We alert you in time to bring people inside, and give an all-clear when it's safe to go back out.

What a typical plant program looks like
Every program is built with your EHS or Operations lead, or another designee. Here is a common starting point for a single facility; multi-plant companies repeat it per site.
- Lightning: alert on cloud-to-ground strikes within 10 miles, warning within 5 miles, all-clear 30 minutes after the last strike inside the radius — for yard, dock, roof and outdoor maintenance crews.
- Tornado and severe thunderstorm: site-specific warnings with expected arrival time when your plant is in the storm's path, 30–45 minutes ahead; null-warning notification when the NWS polygon includes you but the storm does not.
- Hail and high wind: warnings at your thresholds — for example, any hail over 1 inch for outdoor inventory and vehicles, gusts above 50 mph for roof and structural concern — with onset and end timing.
- Flooding and winter weather: heavy-rain and flash-flood warnings for the site and access roads; winter-weather timing days ahead for shift, shipping and receiving decisions.
- Delivery: portal and push alerts to EHS and plant ops, live phone call to the shift supervisor for anything people-critical, text and email to security and dock leads — and an API feed into your plant notification or PA system if you have one.
- Heat (WBGT or heat index): advisories and warnings at your activity or work-rest thresholds on either scale — WBGT by default for outdoor crews and athletics — per site.
- Wildfire: advisory when fire-weather conditions are expected to threaten the site or its access routes; warning when an active fire's location and expected spread put the site at risk, with timing and an all-clear.
